SUPPORT GROUPS

The Philippine Tourette Syndrome Association is now slowly expanding throughout the country to continue spreading awareness on Tourette Syndrome. As such, we are developing support groups that will aid in sharing the organization’s core values, mission and vision. The individual support group’s primary objectives are to (1) provide the families in the provinces easy access on information about Tourette Syndrome, (2) provide emotional support to those individuals and families involved in Tourette Syndrome, (3) facilitate implementation of current projects of the organization thereby reaching those people in the provinces, (4) provide motivational activities for people with Tourette Syndrome and their families in order to functional well not only as individuals but as better individuals in the society, (5) become a permanent support giving body to people with Tourette Syndrome and their families.

VOLUNTEER TO BE A SUPPORT GROUP COORDINATOR.

Any registered member of the organization can be a support group coordinator. The registered member needs to be active enough in advocating the core values, mission and vision of the organization. He/ she should facilitate propagation of the projects and activities of the organization for better implementation. He/ she should study information about Tourette Syndrome and stay current. He/ she should abide by the policies of the organization. However, the organization can appoint members in this position if proven suitable. If you are accepted as Support Group Coordinator in your area, you will be given a copy of the “RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SUPPORT GROUP COORDINATOR” thru email and you are expected to abide by those responsibilities.

THIS PROJECT IS NO MORE THAN REACHING OUT TO FAR PLACES IN THE PHILIPPINES AND EDUCATING THE PEOPLE ABOUT TOURETTE SYNDROME. THIS IS PRIMARILY ROOTED FROM THE FOUNDERS’ COMPASSION FOR THESE PEOPLE AND THE CONTINUOUS DRIVE FOR TOURETTE SYNDROME ADVOCACY.

You can use any color and whatever design you want. You don't have to be in the Philippines to join the drive "TEE FOR TOURETTE". All you have to do is to make your own shirt, design originality is always the best, take a picture of yourself wearing it, and upload your picture in our facebook account in the photo album entitled "MY TEE FOR TOURETTE". The 3 most creative designs will win gifts from PTSA. But the best design will be the organization's tshirt for the year! Hurry! Entries will due on February 16. Give your love for people with Tourette Syndrome. Tshirts are the best way to express our deep concern for these people and a good way to disseminate information.
